The email that starts most of these conversations goes like this: “We are renovating for eight pedicure stations, and my plumber wants to know if the chairs have drain pumps or not. What exactly do I need to tell him?” Fair question, because “pump” means two very different things on a pedicure chair with pump.

When Ana reopened her nail studio in Austin after a remodel, she told me the one piece she refused to compromise on was the workstation. “The chairs bring clients in,” she said, “but the manicure table is what they stare at for an hour.” She was shopping for a modern manicure table and drowning in

Last month a spa owner in Scottsdale forwarded me the equipment spec her architect had drawn up for a six-room build-out. Buried on page two was a line item she had never seen before: a hydronic beauty bed fed by its own hot-water loop. Her questions, in order: what is it, does my room really

Rosa runs a four-room spa in Portland, and her massage menu was doing fine — until she read her reviews. “The table was freezing for the first ten minutes,” one client wrote. Three more said the same thing in different words. She moved a heated spa bed into the deep-tissue room, paired it with a

When Priya took over a 900-square-foot salon near Austin, the first thing she ripped out was the front counter. The old straight desk ate the whole entrance wall, pushed the queue into the doorway, and made the space feel like a waiting room at the DMV. Her contractor suggested an oval reception desk design instead

Last fall, Dana finally replaced the three beat-up foot baths at her nail studio outside Columbus. The old chairs still ran — sort of — but the basins were shallow, the jets barely pushed water, and the plumbing underneath had been patched so many times her plumber refused to touch it again. Beauty salon interior design trends 2026 are less about wallpaper and more about decisions like hers — zoning, flow,

Rachel spent the spring on her salon redo: $9,000 of glossy white stations, chrome legs and straight lines — the look she had saved on Pinterest a while earlier. By fall, walk-ins were asking whether the place was minimalist or just empty. The shift for 2026 is not subtle. Salon design trends 2026 have moved

By Saturday noon, Priya had three chrome manicures, two micro-French sets and a spa pedicure with a milk soak on the books, and her dust extractor was already wheezing through its third gel soak-off of the day. That is the real version of the nail trends 2026 clients are booking: the feed looks pretty, and

Marisol’s gel sets looked flawless in her salon — and slightly off in the client’s car. She blamed the polish until she realized the problem: her station lighting was warm and dim, so she was matching colors under light that lied. She swapped in a proper manicure table lamp with daylight color temperature, and suddenly
